The best solution for storing items that you use infrequently is garage ceiling storage. Overhead garage storage gives you added storage room even when you thought it wasn't possible. If you have a large item that doesn't fit anywhere, the ceiling is a perfect location due to it's overall square footage.

You'll want to prepare for how you will retrieve the belongings you've stored on the ceiling when you want to use them. A ladder is the most obvious answer. For convenience sake, have your carpenter build you a built-in ladder to make it easy to retrieve belongings stored in your garage storage system.

If you don't want your ladder to be in the way of belongings on the floor, keep this in mind when you are designing it's construction is a sure way to take away from your essential floor space. A ladder in the corner of the garage is the way to avoid this situation. Planning the best retrieval system for your overhead garage storage is of great importance but don't forget that it is vital to have objects organized efficiently as well. Mishaps from falling objects are quite preventable if you prepare ahead when designing your garage ceiling storage. A mishap of this nature is very avoidable.

Garage ceiling storage racks are popular because they are strong and also one of the more inexpensive options. There are different constraints on different ceiling mounted garage storage systems regarding how much they are able to hold. Huh I'll have to send my dad to this hub. He is always looking for more storage and it sounds like garage ceiling storage is just up his alley.

Great ideals. Another thing is if your garage is attached to a one story or does not have a room above it you can use the ceiling. As long as the roof is stick framed you can double the joists, add OSB on top and use the space for storage. You probably will not be able to store your college books, but for most things this works great. You don't see it and with an attic stair system you will have easy access. If you have a detached garage you will find it even easier to convert the attic space with a stick framed roof. There is a hub on framing

Our garage is full of stuff and overhead shelving would definitely help without losing floor space. My silly wife wants to actually park her car in the garage. What a novel idea! Thanks for the info.
